It's true -- all this snow is really very pretty. But it's also pretty darned cold, especially if you're living outside.
That's why Kate, the community moderator over at ChangeEverything.ca, has started a campaign to try and make things just a little bit warmer for folks who are out on the street:
"There are some very cold people in our community right now. I have some warm clothes I could donate but no way to get them to the shelters. I am sure I am not the only one. So, I was wringing my hands trying to figure out a way around this. Then it hit me! I have been calling around local businesses to see who might lend me a suitable vehicle so I could go directly to people's homes, collect donations and then make sure that they get to where they need to go.
Do you have any warm clothes you like to see go to people in Vancouver shelters right now but just can't get to a shelter yourself?
I'd like to get a sense of how many people are in that boat. If this sounds like you please reply with what you would like to donate here so I can get a sense of numbers."
Reply to her original post if you have any warm clothes you'd like to contribute.
