Please say more about "manufactured authenticity." Sounds like an oxymoron to me...

Think of it as making deliberate choices about what you present and how, stripping out the extraneous, while trying to stay true to the subject matter.
It's the same challenge facing documentary filmmakers, reporters and anyone else trying to communicate a larger truth within a small container: the 90 minutes of a film, the 10 minutes of a podcast episode or the five minutes a given reader might be willing to devote to your blog post. You're going to have to make choices that will inevitably shape the outcome; this is about applying intention so that the outcome reflects (your interpretation of) your subject.
